Now that spring is here, it is the best season to vaccinate dogs. So what are the precautions for vaccinating dogs? Parents must know something before injecting them so that they can better take care of their pets.

Precautions before injection

Generally speaking, vaccination is not dangerous to dogs, but it can be life-threatening when injected when the dog is sick.

1. For dogs with poor physical constitution and malnourished dogs, it is best to improve their physical constitution and strengthen nutrition first, and then vaccinate them until they are healthy

2. You cannot vaccinate when you are sick. If you vaccinate at this time, the disease will be aggravated due to vaccine reaction, and the vaccine may not be able to produce good effects.

3. If you have been in contact with a sick dog before injection, you need to undergo a comprehensive examination before injection.

4. Injecting pregnant bitches may cause miscarriage and is absolutely prohibited. Animals have high levels of antibodies during pregnancy and generally do not transmit diseases, so there is no need for injections. If you really need to vaccinate, you can only use inactivated vaccines.

5. Dogs within half a month after giving birth are not suitable for vaccination.

6. Dogs whose wounds have not healed are not suitable for vaccination.

Precautions after injection

1. It is normal for dogs to experience problems such as elevated body temperature, depression, decreased appetite, and pain after injection. Generally, they will be fine in about 2 hours.

2. If there is itching all over the body and facial swelling, it means you are allergic and you should go to the hospital immediately for a desensitization injection.

3. There are also some dogs that become ill within a few days to more than ten days after being vaccinated. This is mainly due to the following two situations:

aThe vaccinated dog is already sick, but it is in the incubation period and clinical symptoms have not yet appeared

b. After vaccination and before the vaccine takes effect (because the antibody reaches its peak area only ten days after vaccination, at this stage, the dog is in a state of no resistance), the dog becomes infected with the virus and becomes ill. At this time, the onset will be very serious and you need to be sent to the hospital for treatment immediately.

4. Remember that it is strictly forbidden to bathe or dry the dog within 10 days after vaccination to prevent the body’s resistance from decreasing.

Parents need to pay attention: Before injection in the hospital, the vaccine should be taken out of the refrigerator, and the nurse should display the vaccine and bottle cap (without needle holes or traces of use) before injection. Beware of hospitals Fake.
