1. Fasting for 1-2 days, rehydration and anti-inflammation. Cardiotonic rehydration to prevent acidosis. In addition to intravenous infusion, oral rehydration salts can be added to drinking water as long as the vomiting is not severe.
2. Clean the intestines and stomach: Dogs with gastrointestinal distension and loose stools should fast and use vegetable oil and other laxatives to clear the intestines if necessary.
3. Antiemetic - metoclopramide, 1-2 mg/kg body weight, intramuscular injection, 2 times/day.
4. Hemostasis - Hemostasis is sensitive, 15-20 mg/kg body weight can be injected intramuscularly, 2 times/day. Or Vk3 0.2-0.3 mg, Vk1 mg/kg body weight, intramuscular injection, 2 times/day.
5. Prolonged diarrhea - compound phenylephrine tablets (Zhidiarrhea Spirit) should be taken orally.
6. Gastroenteritis caused by parasites - combined with deworming.
7. Enhance the body’s resistance: supplement vitamin B1, vitamin C, etc.
8. Do not feed your dog meat, eggs and other indigestible foods within 3 days of suffering from gastroenteritis.

Prevention of dog enteritis

1. Dog feeding: Overeating after a dog is overly full or hungry will increase the chance of the dog suffering from enteritis.
2. Avoid abusing antibiotics: Antibiotics can cause imbalance of flora in the dog’s intestines, which can lead to enteritis.
3. Increase the dog’s physical fitness: The poor resistance of dogs is also an important reason for dogs to suffer from other diseases such as enteritis. When feeding dogs daily, add some vitamins and other trace elements.
4. Dogs eat indiscriminately: Enteritis can also be caused when dogs eat unhygienic or rotten and expired food.

Precautions for dog enteritis

1. Be careful not to feed dogs chocolate, ice cream, milk and other foods that can easily cause enteritis in daily life
2. Enhance the dog’s own immunity , regular vaccinations, and daily vitamin supplements.
3. The dog’s living environment must be clean and hygienic.
4. Pay attention to the difference between parvovirus and enteritis: it mainly depends on whether the dog becomes dehydrated and loses weight while vomiting. Generally, the dog will become obviously dehydrated after vomiting about 3 times. The eye sockets are sunken and the body becomes very thin. These are obvious symptoms of dehydration.
