How to deal with dog constipation

1. Constipation can also be solved through massage. The owner can gently press and rub his belly (preferably in the same direction), and the things deposited in the belly will move downward, thereby improving the dog's constipation condition. Massage can relieve constipation in dogs. If constipation is severe, you must consult a veterinarian.

2. Simple dietary therapy: feed foods that are easy to digest and rich in fiber, such as health products that promote gastrointestinal motility (probiotics, intestinal powder) or some vegetables that are suitable for digestion. Organic ingredients (such as foods rich in malic acid, aloe vera) and water absorption can improve their gastrointestinal absorption (avoid feeding too many dry foods, snacks, and processed foods).

3. For dogs with relatively sensitive personalities, the owner can find a suitable person to help take care of the dog when he or she goes out (for more than 3 days); Carry the daily necessities that your dog is familiar with (nests, toys, food bowls) at the same time.

4. A balanced and appropriate diet: Imprudent eating is the most common cause of occasional constipation in dogs, including eating stones, sticks, socks, hair balls, etc. Feeding your dog a complete and balanced diet is the best way to keep your dog's body functioning, especially their digestion. It's time for those dogs who like to pick up messy things and "try new things" to accept the earnest teachings from their owners.

5. Add digestive enzymes and probiotics. Both supplements can help with indigestion (the cause of intermittent bouts of constipation and diarrhea). Your veterinarian will provide the appropriate product and dosage based on your dog's individual condition.

6. Plenty of exercise and plenty of fresh water. All animals' bodies require activity to stay active, including the ability to move stool through the colon. Moderate physical activity and an appropriate amount of fresh, clean drinking water can prevent and treat constipation in dogs.

7. Add dietary fiber. In the wild, dogs obtain fiber from the fur of their prey. However, domestic dogs do not have a lot of fur when eating and can only obtain high-quality dietary fiber through other channels.
Psyllium powder: feed 1/2 teaspoon per 10 pounds, 1-2 times a day;
Dark green leafy vegetables: 1-2 times a day, feed in moderation;
Coconut fiber : Feed 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds, 1-2 times a day;
100% canned pumpkin: Feed 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds, 1-2 times a day. Pet owners can also steam some pumpkin to feed their dogs.

8. Organic apple cider vinegar. Organic apple cider vinegar is a natural miracle drug known to improve digestion and relieve constipation. Feed 1/4 teaspoon per 10 pounds of unfiltered apple cider vinegar to your dog's food 1-2 times a day.

9. Aloe vera juice (not topical gel). 1/4 teaspoon per 10 pounds of body weight, 1-2 times daily.

10. Kaiselu: Because it is a topical medicine, there is no need to worry about harming the dog. Kaiselu’s effect in lubricating and stimulating the intestinal tract can be described as “miraculous” and has never been matched so far. Competing, let the dog defecate smoothly. But it cannot be used for a long time.
