How to take internal anthelmintics

Using anthelmintics can kill internal parasites in puppies. Commonly used albendazole and levamisole are taken orally, 1 tablet per 5 pounds, once a day for 3 days. They are effective against roundworms, pinworms and hookworms. Mebendazole is effective against roundworms, pinworms, hookworms, whipworms and nematodes. Compound mebendazole (quick-acting intestinal insecticide) is made from the compatibility of mebendazole and levamisole hydrochloride. Take 2 tablets. However, some dogs have blood in their stools, and the reason is unclear. Praziquantel can treat tapeworm infection. Take 10-20 mg orally per kilogram of body weight once.

Dogs should be dewormed when they are 2 months old

When dogs are 2-3 months old, they will have diarrhea, which is commonly known as intestinal upset. This has nothing to do with the folklore of eating salty food, but endoparasitic enteritis. Usually caused by roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, and also coccidia. Because the intestinal cavity of puppies is thin, parasites such as roundworms are relatively abundant. They are large and cause diarrhea in dogs. Losing weight, even vomiting worms in severe cases. Eggs can be found in the feces. Some dogs may develop small intestinal intussusception or anal prolapse.

Taboos on taking anthelmintics

The dosage should be as directed by your doctor. For anti-trichomoniasis, you can choose metronidazole. Sulfa drugs can only prevent coccidia infection, and amprolium hydrochloride can be used to treat coccidia. Since puppies can be infected by parasites when they eat breast milk, and can also be infected by licking soil, walls, and other dogs' feces, regular deworming is necessary from the time they are puppies.
2. On the day of deworming your dog, if you find that there are no worms on your dog, don’t deworm it. This is a mistake, because many worms are not visible to the naked eye, and some worms are not visible to the naked eye. It is difficult to find eggs and young fleas, so you must insist on deworming your dog. Even if no parasites are found, you must deworm your dog regularly. This is a kind of protection for your dog!
3. Do not deworm your dog for too long. Do not deworm your dog once a year, or think that you do not need to deworm your dog after you have dewormed it. This is Incorrect, dogs must be dewormed regularly, and the time interval cannot be too long. It will be bad for the dog's health, and parasites will be produced due to various factors such as the dog's living environment and diet!
4. The interval and application method of deworming vary depending on the deworming medicine. Please ask the veterinarian to prescribe deworming medicine directly. Because taking too much anthelmintics is not good for dogs, the dosage should be checked by a veterinarian. Please note that some human anthelmintic drugs cannot be completely used on dogs. The anthelmintic effect of different anthelmintic drugs and which parasites are effective are scientific issues and should be completed by veterinarians. Kennels need to be dewormed regularly, especially hookworms, coccidia and other parasites that cause bleeding, which are very harmful and must be prevented.
