Interdigital pyoderma is also called interdigital pyoderma, also known as pododermatitis. A common symptom of interdigital inflammation is that a dog develops a small thing between the toes or on the foot. It will be as big as a pimple at first, and will gradually become larger. There may be pus, blood, or Very swollen. Some dogs will be afraid to step on the ground due to swelling and pain, so they will walk with a limp. Some symptoms may only be red, or may produce pus, etc.
There are many causes of interdigital inflammation. Possible causes include: bacteria, bacterial infections, parasites (ticks, etc.), but most of them are caused by infection and bacteria caused by moist environment and bumps from external objects!
Dogs suffering from interdigital inflammation will feel uncomfortable due to the redness and swelling of the inflammation, and often like to lick their toes. If they can find out early and seek help from a veterinarian and receive appropriate treatment, they will generally recover quickly. However, if the opportunity for treatment is not grasped, and the puppy is particularly diligent in licking and biting the affected area, the condition will often worsen rapidly. In severe cases, it may cause bleeding or lameness, and even the possibility of severe sepsis.
Methods to prevent interdigital inflammation:
1. After bathing the dog, dry the hair on the soles of the feet first
2. Trim your dog’s sole hair and nails frequently.
3. When you come back from walking the dog, it is not recommended to wipe your feet with a wet towel. Because there will be dirt brought to the dog's feet outdoors and then wiped with a wet towel, bacteria can easily survive in the humid environment. It is recommended to rinse with clean water and blow dry.
