How to measure the temperature of a Labrador? The rectal thermometer method is to sterilize the rectal thermometer with alcohol, apply a small amount of Vaseline or water on the rectal thermometer, put one end of the rectal thermometer about 2cm into the rectum, and take the reading after five minutes; measure on the inside of the hind leg. The temperature rule is to place the thermometer on the inside of the Labrador's hind legs, where it is connected to the belly, measure for 10 minutes, take the reading, and add 0.5 degrees.

Rectal thermometry:

(1) Disinfect the rectal thermometer with alcohol and adjust the temperature to zero.

(2) Apply a small amount of Vaseline on one end of the rectal thermometer for lubrication. If Vaseline is not available, purified water can be used instead.

(3) It is recommended to test the Labrador while it is sleeping or lying down to avoid causing strong resistance from the Labrador. It is best for one person to help soothe the Labrador, distract the Labrador's attention, and take the temperature measurement alone.

(4) Put one end of the rectal thermometer into the rectum about 2cm, remember not to exceed 3cm.

(5) Wait for about 5 minutes, then take out the rectal thermometer and read it.

　2. Temperature measurement method on the inside of the hind legs:

(1) Disinfect the thermometer with alcohol and adjust the temperature to zero.

　(2) It is recommended to test when the Labrador is sleeping or lying down to avoid strong resistance from the Labrador. It is best to have one person help soothe the Labrador and distract the Labrador. One person takes the temperature.

(3) Place the thermometer on the inside of the Labrador's hind legs, where it is connected to the belly, just like humans measure the armpit temperature.

(4) Since the body surface temperature is lower than the rectal temperature, it needs to be measured for 10 minutes before taking it out. The temperature at this time needs to be added by 0.5 degrees.
