Valve core tail cutting method (this method is only suitable for Bichon Frize about one week after birth):
Prepare the following three things: a suitable pen tube, a valve core, and a pair of scissors, all of which are disinfected with iodine. The pen tube should be able to fit into the puppy's tail, and one end should be small.
First, cut the valve core into small sections of about 1 to 2 cm with scissors, open the valve core (you can use tweezers), and put the valve core on the pen tube from the thinner end of the pen tube.
Then, wipe and disinfect the root of the dog’s tail with alcohol or iodine, insert the dog’s tail into the pen tube, and put the pre-set pen tube at the position where the tail is to be docked. The valve core is rolled down and just fits on the puppy's tail, and the tail is done.
After that, rub some iodophor on the binding area every day for disinfection. If the method is used properly for about a week, because there is no blood circulation, the tail will naturally dry up and fall off, and the wound will be relatively small. Then just disinfect the wound a little.
If there is no valve core, you can also use a rubber band. Use a rubber band to tie it to the position where the tail is to be docked. This requires force, because it will prevent blood circulation and cause muscle necrosis, so please try it yourself first to see how tight you need to tie it before you feel numb. It feels right. Don't be too loose, otherwise all your efforts will be wasted. All other steps are the same as the valve core method.
