1. Caused by disease
Yellow purulent eye droppings are a symptom of keratitis and conjunctivitis. In addition, yellow pus-like eye droppings can also be seen when Chow Chows suffer from distemper, canine infectious hepatitis, herpes, and systemic thermal diseases. When the eye feces appears amyloid white, it also means that the Chow Chow suffers from intestinal parasites or chronic gastrointestinal disease. If the Chow has a lot of eye mucus and lasts for a long time, it is recommended that the owner take the dog to the hospital for examination and treatment in time.
2. External stimulation
If the owner does not pay attention to the care of the Chow Chow's eyes and does not clean and trim them regularly, it can easily become infected by bacteria or viruses, leading to inflammation, or even serious eye diseases. In this regard, the hair around the Chow Chow's eyes should be trimmed regularly in time, and special eye drops such as pet eye drops should be used for Chow Chow to sterilize and disinfect.
3. Caused by getting angry
If you don’t pay attention to the diet, the Chow Chow will get angry, and there will be tears and a lot of eye mucus. Therefore, owners need to make some appropriate adjustments to the Chow Chow’s diet. The diet should be mainly light food, and reduce feeding hot, greasy or salty food to the Chow Chow. If the Chow Chow’s staple food is dog food, the owner should choose an ecological dog food with low salinity for the Chow Chow.
