1. It is not recommended to clean the dog’s ears directly with your hands. The dog’s ear canal is L-shaped and difficult to penetrate. You can use cotton swabs. Instead of cotton swabs, you can use hemostatic forceps wrapped in cotton. If the puppy's ear canal is relatively narrow and it is difficult to grasp the cotton swab, you can use your fingers to wrap gauze to wipe it, mainly to wipe away the dirt in the visible range of the external auditory canal. For deeper places, dog ear drops should be prepared.
2. You can use a cotton swab dipped in a little olive oil and wipe it inward little by little. The cotton swab should not be too long, grab the ear with the other hand and wipe it slowly until it is very clean. If there is a large amount of earwax in the external auditory canal, add 1 drop of 2% borax water and carefully remove it with tweezers after softening. When the dog's head shakes, pull out the tweezers immediately to prevent damage to the tympanic membrane or ear canal mucosa.
3. It is recommended that the owner place the dog on the grooming table (if there is one) or a higher place so that it will not run around, and then use a cotton swab to remove the earwax from the ears; if the earwax has been The accumulation is very thick. You can buy ear cleaning liquid and drip it into the dog's ears for about two to three minutes, and gently massage the ear base. It will be easier to remove the earwax.
4. The hair in the ears of long-haired dogs is longer, and earwax is easy to adhere to the hair. The owner can use hemostatic forceps to remove the miscellaneous hair and earwax together.
5. After cleaning, if there is inflammation, pus, or parasitic fleas, treatment medication should be used. If there are no other conditions, sprinkle a little boric acid powder into the ears to keep them dry.
