1. Genetic reasons
Generally, Corgis will start to erect their ears about forty days after birth, and their ears will be fully erect about three or four months after birth. If a Corgi cannot successfully erect ears after eight months of birth, it means that the Corgi has a genetic gene for soft ears and is born unable to erect ears. Because most Corgis can have erect ears, only Corgis with soft-ear genes cannot have erect ears. This is not a disease, and owners don’t need to worry.
2. Caused by calcium deficiency
The reason why Corgi’s ears are not erect may be due to calcium deficiency. You can usually supplement your dog with calcium through food supplements. You can feed your dog some chicken breast, shrimp skin, beef and bone soup to maintain your dog's nutritional balance. However, some dogs have weak gastrointestinal absorption capabilities, and their body's conversion function of calcium is also poor, so the ideal calcium supplement effect cannot be achieved. It is best to supplement calcium through calcium powder. While supplementing calcium, it can also supplement vitamins and various trace elements, and also allow the calcium to be better absorbed by the dog.
3. Slow development
In fact, the development of Corgi dogs will also have different situations, just like us humans, everyone is different, so the degree of development and growth will also be different. Some Corgis have a shorter development time, so their ears will erect earlier, while some Corgis will have a longer development time, and their ears will erect later.
