1. Body shape
In terms of body shape, the pug has a very compact structure, good proportions, and a relatively hard muzzle outline. The ideal weight range is probably between 14 pounds or 18 pounds, and the proportions of the dog are roughly square. Similar, the tail is curled up and held tightly against the rump.
2. Body
First of all, we need to look at the Pug’s neck, topline, and body. The neck should be slightly arched and thick, the topline on the back should be level, the body should be short and fat, and the chest should be wide. Also, if the tail is not docked, it will be curled above the buttocks, and the soles of the feet should not be like rabbit feet and cat feet, the toes should be separated.
Viewed from the hindquarters, the Pug’s hindquarters are very strong. The angle of the rear knee joint is moderate and the joint is perpendicular to the ground. Viewed from the rear, the two legs are parallel to each other, and the rear and front drives are balanced. The thighs and buttocks are well muscled, and the claws are the same as the forequarters.
3. Legs and feet
The bones are thick and the forelimbs are medium length and straight. Viewed from the rear, the two hind limbs are parallel. The hind limbs are well muscled, the knee joints are slightly flexed, the hock joints naturally drop, and the metatarsals are short and straight. The toes are round, strong, and the curvature of the pug's toes is similar to that of a cat.
4.Coat
The coat of a Pug should be smooth, short-haired, shiny, not hard, and not like wool. The diet of a Pug must be very important, otherwise the shedding will be serious, so raising a Pug Pug dogs’ diet must be light. The colors of Pug dogs are silver, apricot or black.
5. Color
Colored Pug refers to any Pug that is not white or has white patches. White hair on areas other than the head is considered insufficient, and pigmentation on the skin is allowed. The ideal coloring for a colored pug is brindle. Miniature Pugs should have one color predominate.
