1. The difference in appearance
Size: Su Mu is a large dog (an adult dog is about 60 cm tall), and Shetland is a medium-sized dog (more than 30 cm).
Frame: Shetland is smaller, Scotch is thicker.
Forehead: Shetland has a distinct forehead, while Scotch’s forehead looks flatter.
Eyes: Shetland puppies’ eyes are already almond-shaped, while Su Mu’s eyes are almost triangular.
Tone: Shetland is finer and pointed, while Scotch is rougher. This is a relative term.
Ears: The ears of a two- or three-week-old Shetland are already erect or semi-erect as a puppy, while the ears of a two- or three-week-old Scotch are completely flat on the head as a puppy.
2. Other differences
Crying: Shetland is more tender, Scotland is louder.
Temperament: Shetland looks smarter.
Disqualification: If more than one-half of the Shetland's coat is white, it will be disqualified in the competition. However, in Scotland, if more than three-quarters of the coat is white, it will still be recognized.
Food intake: Su Mu’s food intake is about three times that of Shetland.
