What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Border Collie? The advantage of the Border Collie is that it has a high IQ, good obedience, lively and cheerful, and is very friendly to people. It is very suitable as a working dog or a companion dog; the disadvantage is that it is too smart. They tend to escape from the cage, sometimes they are a little timid, and border collies need a lot of exercise and are very energetic.

Advantages of Border Collies:

1. Intelligence is the greatest advantage of the Border Collie. The IQ of the Border Collie is ranked first among dogs, and this is also the starting point for most pet lovers to know the Border Collie. But even among humans, IQs vary widely. Therefore, even though they are both border shepherds, they cannot be generalized.

2. High obedience, just like smart children may not necessarily be obedient. IQ is innate, while obedience is determined by personality. Therefore, a dog with a high IQ does not necessarily have good obedience; or a dog with high obedience must be smart. However, the Border Collie has both of these advantages. This is why working dogs like Border Collies can become very suitable family companion dogs.

4. Border Collies are energetic, alert and enthusiastic. The IQ is very similar to that of a 6-8 year old child. Intelligence is one of its most obvious features. They are very friendly to friends and children, but wary of strangers. The Border Collie is an excellent dog that is willing to learn and happy to do so. Able to coexist peacefully with humans and thrive.

Disadvantages of the Border Collie:

1. A high IQ is originally the greatest advantage of a Border Collie, but everything has advantages and disadvantages. For example, a place that can hold other dog breeds may not be able to hold a smart Border Collie.

2. Timid, Border Collie can dominate in his own territory with his intelligence, but almost 50% of Border Collie even experience urinary incontinence after being frightened. Even larger adult border collies will pucker their ears or even turn their bellies to show complete surrender when faced with the touch of a stranger in a strange place.

3. Border collies are very energetic and require a relatively large amount of exercise. Dog owners need to provide them with enough space and time to move around.
