What are the characteristics of the Bedlington Terrier?

1. Morphological characteristics
Brave and confident. Is an intelligent companion with great athletic ability. Good tempered, gentle and commanding by nature, but not shy or nervous. He sleeps gently but wakes up with courage.
2. Head
There are a lot of buns on the head, almost all white.
3. Nose
The nostrils are large and clear in outline. Blue and tan dogs must have black noses, while liver and fawn dogs must have brown noses.
4. Eyes
Small, bright and sunken. Ideally eyes should be triangular in shape. Blue dogs have dark eyes, blue and tan dogs have brighter eyes with an amber glow, and liver and tan dogs have hazel eyes.
5. Ears
Appropriate size, hazelnut shape, low position, hanging flat on both sides of the cheeks. The ears are thin and covered with a layer of down. The tips of the ears are covered with soft feathers, forming a silky fringe shape.
6.Body
Muscular and extremely flexible. Length is slightly greater than height.
7. Gait
Ability to run at high speeds, and this ability is present when one goes up. The movement is very characteristic. When walking at a slow pace, the gait seems a bit slow and brisk; when running, it is slightly like a paddling posture.
8. Coat
The hair is very distinctive, a mixture of soft and hard hairs, growing naturally from the skin, but it doesn’t feel like wires. Hair becomes frizzy very easily, especially on the head and face. The color is blue, liver or light yellowish brown, with or without brown. Brown markings are encouraged.
