1. Put on the collar

Before bathing your Golden Retriever, put a collar on it so that it is easier to control during the bath. This does not seem to be applicable to many obedient dogs who have been "bathed" for a long time, but you can try it for golden retrievers who take a bath for the first time.

　2. Plug the ear canal

Use cotton swabs or cotton strips (do not use cotton balls, if the golden retriever shakes his head during the bath, the cotton balls will automatically fall off) to plug the golden retriever's T-shaped ear canal vertically. In addition, apply chlortetracycline ointment on the eyes to prevent bath fluid and dirty water from entering.

　3. Flush

The direction of flushing is to clean the golden retriever’s head first, then the body. Start flushing from the head and gradually move backwards. Don't grab it all over the head and face, just go wherever you go.

　4. Grooming hair

Soak the golden retriever's body with appropriate warm water, and gently comb the fur on the golden retriever's body to make the golden retriever feel comfortable and quiet, and get ready for a bath.

5. Rub the whole body

First apply bath liquid on the back of the golden retriever, rub it from the back to the buttocks, and rub the whole body to make foam. Finally, wash the golden retriever’s head, ears, chin, around the anus, limbs, soles and other parts. Wash thoroughly, but be careful to avoid washing the foam into the golden retriever's eyes.

If your golden retriever is taking a bath for the first time, or is very uncooperative when taking a bath, as mentioned before, you can try using a collar to help you control your golden retriever. In this case, while gently scrubbing, hold the golden retriever's collar with one hand to prevent the golden retriever from jumping out or getting water everywhere.

　6. Let the dog stand still

If you put your Golden Retriever in a tub or bathtub to take a bath, the water volume should be 5-10 cm deep, and a non-slip mat can be placed in the bathtub to allow your Golden Retriever to stand firm in the bathtub.

7. Use hair conditioner

Make sure to rinse the remaining bath liquid on the golden retriever thoroughly. After confirming that the residual bath liquid on the golden retriever has been completely washed away, it is recommended to use conditioner every time. The acid-base balance is conducive to thoroughly washing the golden retriever. Residual bath fluid.

8. Dry the golden retriever

The last step is to comb the golden retriever's hair until it is completely dry. Sometimes, we see that the surface of the dog's hair is dry, but the bottom layer is still moist. At this time, to prevent the golden retriever from catching cold, please do not let it blow cold wind. Dry the golden retriever with a large towel that can completely wrap the golden retriever, remove the cotton strips from the golden retriever's ears, and wipe the ears clean. Wipe first with a towel, then blow dry with a hair dryer.

If the golden retriever can adapt to the sound of the hair dryer, you can also use the warm air of an ordinary hair dryer to dry its hair. In order to avoid scalding the golden retriever's skin, the hair dryer should be kept at least 30 cm away from the dog's fur.
