1. After the Border Collie learns to sit down (for details, please see: How to train a Border Collie to sit down), you can continue to learn the training of lying down. As long as there is a snack as encouragement, the Border Collie will soon learn this action. Oh! The training method is: first let the Border Collie wear a collar, and then give the "sit" command to order the Border Collie to sit down.

2. Then walk up to the border collie and squat down, then put the food or snack in your hand and slowly move it from top to bottom in front of the border collie.

3. When the food or snack in your hand keeps touching the ground, the Border Collie will also lie down in order to eat the snack. When the Border Collie is about to lie down, you need to shout the command to the Border Collie: "Down" or "Down"

4. Remember to make sure your Border Collie lies down completely and makes enough movements before giving it snacks!

5. If the Border Collie fails to lie down, you can try to gently pull the leash downward to make it lie down slowly, but do not pull hard to avoid injuring the Border Collie.

6. If the Border Collie still doesn’t lie down, you can put your left hand around its body, hold the Border Collie’s neck with your hand, and then press the Border Collie down slowly and hard. Remember Don't use too much force to avoid hurting the Border Collie!

Precautions

1. If the Border Collie appears to have problems such as skewed hind limbs after lying down, the dog owner should correct it in time, but pay attention to the method to avoid destroying the entire movement.

2. Do not frequently train in conjunction with lying down and sitting down, so as to prevent the Border Collie from automatically sitting down after lying down or automatically lying down after sitting down.

3. Before the lying delay is consolidated, do not rush to combine it with the training to avoid destroying the delay.
