What should I do if my Chinook has a fever? Although the dog looks very healthy, it can still catch a cold and have a fever accidentally. So how to treat a Chinook if it has a fever?

Chinook Treatment methods for dog fever:

First of all, under normal circumstances, the body temperature of Chinook dogs is usually high at night and low in the morning, with a daily difference of about 0.2-0.5 degrees Celsius. Moreover, when the outside world is hot and the dog is excited and nervous during feeding activities, the body temperature can temporarily rise slightly. Therefore, there may be some differences in a Chinook’s body temperature in the morning and evening throughout the day. In addition, when Chinook dogs suffer from proctitis, frequent diarrhea or anal relaxation, there will be a certain error in rectal temperature measurement.

Secondly, most cases of fever in Chinook dogs are due to illness. For example, cold and fever, fever caused by parvovirus, canine distemper, fever caused by gastroenteritis and other diseases, etc.

To determine whether a Chinook dog has a fever, you can swing the mercury column of the thermometer (rectal thermometer) below 35 degrees Celsius, wipe and disinfect it with an alcohol cotton ball and apply lubricant, and then properly restrain the dog under inspection. Then lift the tail slightly and slowly insert the thermometer into the anus. When a Chinook dog is under normal conditions and its body temperature exceeds 38-39 degrees Celsius for a long time, it means that the Chinook dog has a fever and needs timely diagnosis and treatment.
