After a turtle gets white eye disease, it usually dies in 5-10 days.

Turtle white eye disease is caused by water pollution, excessive stocking density and other reasons, causing the turtle's eye mucosa to be infected by bacteria and viruses.

During the onset of the disease, you will notice white discharge from the turtle's eyes, blocked nostrils, poor mental status, and difficulty eating.

How to treat turtle white-eye disease:

1. Turtle white-eye disease is caused by poor water quality. When a turtle dips its forelimbs into the water to wipe its eyes, bacteria can invade the eyes and cause an infection. Therefore, when a turtle is sick, it needs to be dry-reared. Don’t be completely dehydrated during dry maintenance. Soak three times a day for about half an hour each time.

2. Medication: After infection, the eyes cannot see. In order to make it recover as soon as possible, medication is still needed. First clear the white secretions from the eyes, and then apply erythromycin eye ointment to the eyes. Let it absorb for a while so recovery is possible.

3. Water: In normal times, turtles must pay attention to changing the water. Many diseases are caused by poor water quality. Changing the water can reduce the possibility of disease. Usually all the water needs to be replaced every time, because turtles do not need too much water, and only changing a part of the water cannot improve the water quality, so it needs to be completely replaced.
