When dogs are in estrus and precautions during estrus

Many owners are raising pets for the first time, and they don’t know much about some issues about dogs, especially when do female dogs get their “menstruation”, why do male dogs suddenly become disobedient, etc.
Regardless of whether it is mated or not, the owner should carefully observe its physiological laws and understand it well.
When does a dog go into heat?
Dogs are animals that are in single heat and do not go into heat repeatedly. Normal female dogs go into estrus twice a year, usually once in March-April in spring and September-October in autumn.
Generally, small dogs mature sexually earlier (usually 8-12 months old), some as early as 6 months old, while large dogs mature later.
The vagina is swollen in the early stage and subsides in the late stage. The bleeding mucus decreases and the color changes from bright red to light red.
The vagina gradually becomes congested and swollen, mucus mixed with blood flows, and the frequency of urination increases but the amount is small.
Male dogs are not in estrus as regular as female dogs once every six months. Whether they are in estrus or not is mainly related to whether there are female dogs in estrus in the surrounding environment. Female dogs attract the attention of male dogs through the smell of urine. As long as they smell the smell of female dogs in estrus, male dogs will change. Got restless.
When a female dog is in heat nearby, the male dog’s keen sense of smell will pick up the scent and follow the scent.
Male dogs have poor appetite, lose control of their emotions easily, are not controlled by their owners when going out, and are prone to fights when meeting other male dogs.
What you should pay attention to during estrus:
Try not to take a bath when the female dog is in heat to avoid infection.
If you don’t plan to mate your babies, you should avoid letting your female dogs come into contact with male dogs when they are in heat, and you can wear menstrual pants when you go out.
Neutering your dog as early as possible can avoid the trouble of estrus, and can effectively prevent diseases such as pyometra, breast tumors and prostate enlargement.
