What causes dogs to become infected with scabies mites?

Canine scabies mites are invisible to the naked eye. This parasite likes to dig holes in the surface of the dog's skin, causing scales on the dog's skin. The mites can secrete highly sensitive substances, causing severe itching in the animal, which is an allergic reaction.
Hazards:
Scabies mites parasitize in the dog's skin and bite, move, chew and pierce the skin, causing severe itching, oozing, skin desquamation, keratin hyperplasia, skin hypertrophy and hair loss in the affected area;
The affected dog scratches, rubs, and bites the skin, causing skin trauma;
In severe cases, large areas of yellow or gray scabs will form on the skin, which can even lead to death.
Symptoms:
Dogs do not have seasonal itching, and scales or scabs may be visible. The lesions may be mild and difficult to detect at first;
The disease occurs in areas with sparse hair, such as the hock joints, behind the elbows, ear edges, abdomen and ventral side of the chest;
In chronic infection, the lesions may spread to the face, feet, limbs, and even the back of the trunk. In severe cases, it may cause peripheral lymph node enlargement and possible weight loss;
Some dogs have severe itching with no skin lesions or mild skin diseases. In a family with multiple dogs, different symptoms may occur, ranging from no itching to some itching.
Treatment:
Injections are given to treat mites (Tongming or Huohuoming, not recommended for Collies). Generally, most dogs can be cured after 2-3 clinical applications of injections.
Use topical sprays locally, along with medicated baths, oral administration or skin nutrients.
Prevention:
Isolate dogs with scabies mites to prevent mutual infection.
Pay attention to environmental hygiene, keep it clean and dry, and clean and disinfect regularly.
