The reasons why dogs appear stuck but unable to cough:

1. Foreign bodies in the airway. In this case, the dog will cough violently due to strong tracheal discomfort, but because there is no exudate, it will not cough up anything.

2. Viral infection and parasitic infection. It causes laryngeal edema, damage to the airway mucosa or airway irritation in dogs, causing dogs to cough.

3. Pulmonary infection. Pulmonary infection in dogs is more serious. The main symptoms are cough with thick sputum, purulent nasal fluid, shortness of breath, visible mucosal cyanosis, and even death from suffocation.

Solutions to a stuck dog:

1. If the dog has a foreign body in the airway, it is recommended that the owner take the dog to the pet store as soon as possible. The hospital conducts imaging examinations such as DR, bronchoscopy or CT. After determining the location and nature of the foreign body, surgery should be arranged for the dog to remove the foreign body as soon as possible to prevent the dog from suffocating.

2. If the dog is infected by a virus, the dog should undergo imaging examination and hematology examination in time, and then choose a treatment plan based on the dog's cause and clinical symptoms.

3. If the dog has a lung infection, use gentamicin, sulfonamide antibiotics and some cough and phlegm drugs to first eliminate inflammation and relieve symptoms. In order to prevent leakage or non-absorption of drugs, also 10% calcium gluconate can be given intravenously.
