Dogs can’t hold their urine after being sterilized. This is caused by the sequelae of the dog’s sterilization surgery, urinary system diseases, etc. First of all, dogs will be injected with anesthesia during sterilization surgery. Before the anesthesia is eliminated, it will affect the dog's ability to hold back urine. This is a normal phenomenon and can be restored after the anesthesia wears off. Secondly, if your dog suffers from cystitis or bladder damage, it will cause the dog to be unable to hold in his urine. It is recommended to go to the hospital for examination to determine the cause and then treat it with medication.

What should you pay attention to after the dog is neutered:

1. Please note that you can only drink water eight hours after the operation. If a dog drinks water soon after the sterilization operation, it may lead to the risk of intestinal torsion or obstruction, so the owner must remember to give the dog water 8 hours after the operation.

2. Give the dog more time to rest and sleep, and give the dog more care. If your dog has not eaten for 2 days, please contact your pet doctor promptly to inquire about the reason.

3. Always observe whether your dog has shortness of breath, vomiting and diarrhea, constipation, difficulty urinating, continuous bleeding or other abnormal behaviors. If you find any, please communicate with your pet doctor in time.
