The teacup dog, also known as the teacup poodle, originated in the United States and is a high-end pet dog. Its size standard is under 8 inches and weighs under 4 pounds. Tiny teacup poodles are smaller, commonly known as "petite" poodles or "pocket" poodles. The standard is less than 7 inches and weighs less than 3 pounds.

When raising teacup dogs, special attention should be paid to the temperature in which they live. In winter, pay attention to keeping warm and maintain temperature; in summer, pay attention to ventilation and keep cool. Indoors must be cleaned and disinfected frequently, and kept dry and tidy.

Puppies’ lives should be regular. Feeding should be regular and quantitative, and nutrition should be balanced. Be careful to prevent hypervitaminosis (especially vitamin A or D) or calcium deficiency. Puppies should not overeat, generally 7-8 minutes is appropriate.

It is necessary to pay close attention to observe the puppy's urination and defecation conditions to determine whether it is normal. Pay attention to the color, smell and presence of worms in the puppy's stool. Normal stool is strip-shaped, moderately soft and hard, and usually slightly yellow.

Puppies should not rest on their abdomen for a long time, as this can easily cause diarrhea or a cold due to cold. Puppies are afraid of the cold, so you should pay attention to keeping them warm no matter in winter or summer.

The bones of puppies are not fully developed. Walking for a long time can cause bone deformation in the limbs and their resistance is poor. Outdoor activities should be reduced when the air conditions are not good. When the outdoor weather is suitable, letting puppies bathe in the sun is beneficial to bone growth.

Reduce the number of baths, especially for newly bought teacup dogs. Never bathe with water. Use dry cleaning powder to dry clean once every five days, and use a brush to brush for a while.

Teacup dogs need to be groomed and sheared starting from the age of 4 months, such as poodles. If you go outside for grooming, be sure to choose a beauty shop with good conditions and high reputation. This can prevent the spread of diseases and cross-infection, because the immunity of puppies in April is still very fragile. For hard-haired dogs, you can pluck a small amount of hair every day at home to promote its growth.
