Water should always be available for the dog, because water will be lost as the dog urinates, exercises, breathes, and metabolizes, and the dog may need to replenish water anytime and anywhere. Water must be involved in the digestion, absorption, and transportation of various nutrients, the elimination of waste, the regulation of body temperature, and dog lactation.

Precautions for dogs to drink water:

1. Do not drink ice water. Dogs' intestines and stomachs are relatively fragile, and they are prone to vomiting and diarrhea after drinking ice water, so it is best to give them cold water.

2. Drinks cannot be substituted for water. Many drinks contain some food additives, which are not suitable for dogs’ physical constitution.

3. Change the water regularly. If the water is left for a long time, bacteria and microorganisms will breed, which is not good for the dog's health. The water in the drinking fountain needs to be replaced regularly.

4. Pay attention to diseases. In addition to being affected by the amount of exercise, dry food and weather, which can cause dogs to drink too much water, if the dog drinks too much water without any warning, it may be a hidden disease in the body.
