Three steps to train your dog to “walk”

Walking training will be more laborious at first because the dog must know that it is the dog owner who determines the pace and direction of the walk, not the dog. Use the rope and collar on your hands to stop the dog from rushing around and constantly changing the direction of the dog's progress, so that the dog always lags behind people. Over time, the dog will become "accustomed" to following the owner's footsteps and will not always want to do as he pleases. Walk whichever way you want, even ahead of the owner.

Training goal: When walking, let the dog follow every step and not rush.

Steps to train a dog to “walk”:
Step one: The safety and health of the dog are completely in the hands of the dog owner. Generally speaking, dogs should not be allowed to run loose unless they are under your supervision and in a safe environment without danger. Do you want to take your dog for a walk as you like? Then training your dog for a walk is also necessary. The training method is: when walking, the dog's pace often exceeds your control. Please turn around and change the direction of travel immediately.
Step 2: When the dog is lagging behind you, you can gently pull the leash to encourage the dog to catch up.
Step 3: If after catching up, it overtakes you again, please immediately change the direction of travel again so that you are ahead of it, and let it continue to catch up with you until it is willing to follow you. Act in sync and stop. Most importantly, encourage your dog every time he follows your direction.
Things to note when training your dog to “walk”:
1. This training can start by making the dog lag behind the owner in a circle. When it becomes more willing to cooperate with your actions, you can switch to a square route. And every time it is obedient and does not get ahead of itself, remember to encourage and praise it. Over time, it will follow you obediently.
2. When the dog completes the action, don’t forget to give snacks as encouragement immediately.
