Five steps to train your dog to “lay and wait”

"Lie down and wait" is an "advanced wait". It is not difficult to ask the dog to wait, but it is not easy to ask the dog not to run around after waiting, especially when the environment is full of toys or people coming and going. A well-trained dog can not only remain motionless while doing it, but also look directly at the owner, waiting for the owner's next command. Training a dog to be stable is actually not difficult at all. Using food, play and encouragement, you can induce the dog to do what is required and train it to obey.

Dog training steps:
Step 1: After your dog learns to sit and wait, you can increase the difficulty of the training so that your dog learns to lie down and wait for your next command. This training may seem boring to you, but a dog that has learned the basic movements is more willing to obey the owner's orders, which also lays the foundation for subsequent training. The training method is: use food to guide the dog to your legs, give it the "lie" command, and when the dog lies down, please use food as a reward!
Step 2: When the dog completes the command to sit down, please take 1 to 2 steps back. If the dog still lies down, please continue to let the dog lie down; if the dog intends to get up, please repeat the first step.
Step 3: When the dog lies still, you can continue to move so that the dog is farther and farther away from you. No matter how far away you are from the dog, the dog will lie down and wait. Keep saying to the dog and still showing the "stop" gesture to let it wait.
Step 4: When the dog is still lying on the spot, you can move forward, backward, left, and right, but you still need to keep the dog lying down and waiting. If the dog gets up, you need to give the dog a "lie" command to prevent it from getting up.
Step 5: When the dog continues to wait in the same place for as long as you expect, return to the original place and encourage it. Let the dog understand that the owner can leave while waiting, and not only can sit down and wait for the owner, but can also lie down. Waiting on the ground.
