The fox dog we usually refer to refers to the Japanese fox dog, also known as the Japanese silver fox, and the Pomeranian is a type of German fox dog. From the names of the two, we know that they are two very similar dogs, but we can still easily distinguish the two dogs based on the differences in their coat color and appearance.

1. Coat color

The coat color of the Fox Dog is pure white, while the Pomeranian’s coat color is richer, the common ones are white, brown and orange, as well as black, dark Gray and floral.

2. Appearance

First of all, the weight of the Fox Dog is basically in the range of 6-10 kg. The weight of the Pomeranian is often less than 4 kg, so judging from the body shape , the Pomeranian is much smaller than the Fox Terrier. Secondly, the Fox Dog is longer than the Pomeranian. The Fox Dog has a stretched body, while the Pomeranian has a compact body and thick and lush hair. From a distance, it looks like a small fur ball. Finally, the ratio of the fox dog's muzzle length to the skull length is about 2:3, and the Pomeranian's is about 2:4. The difference is that the fox dog's mouth is longer and more pointed than the Pomeranian's.
