Pet cloning technology can achieve "eternal life"

Nowadays, more and more families are raising pets, and pets have gradually changed from people's "playmates" to indispensable members of the family. However, the lifespan of pets is limited after all. In order to no longer let owners suffer the pain of losing their beloved pets, a Korean company launched a pet cloning service, using this technology to give pets "immortality".

Pet cloning services are expensive

Since 2006, a biotechnology research foundation in Seoul, South Korea has launched pet cloning services. The price of each cloned puppy is approximately RMB 670,000. Although the price is high, there is an endless stream of customers coming here. So far, the foundation has cloned nearly 800 dogs.

Wang Zaixiong, a researcher at the Biotechnology Research Foundation, said that compared to the traditional method of letting pets pass away naturally and then missing them, cloning technology provides owners with another psychological choice.

Pet Cloning Process

In order to clone a pet, researchers will first extract DNA from the cells of the target pet and then copy it. It is then injected into an egg from which the egg nucleus has been extracted, and then the egg is activated and allowed to develop into an embryo. Finally, the embryo is implanted into the uterus of the surrogate dog mother and develops until delivery.

In the nursing room, each cloned puppy will be raised in a separate room, and researchers will monitor their condition continuously.

The staff said that the foundation’s clients come from all over the world. They hope that the cloned pets can perfectly replace their previous pets and truly realize their dream of keeping pets with them for a lifetime.
