First aid measures for dogs accidentally eating rat poison
1. Lift the dog’s hind limbs with both hands so that the stomach is facing downwards and turn it up and down; then press the base of the dog’s tongue with your fingers to induce vomiting. You can also use chopsticks instead to prevent your dog from biting; you can also use your hands to press your abdomen and push upwards, paying attention, and push about 15 times. Or use the palm of your hand to hold down the shoulder blade and tap it hard about 15 times. Generally, after trying the above method, most dogs will cough a few times and then spit out the food.
2. Grind vitamin B and vitamin K into powder, add glucose oral solution, and take it with a syringe (remove the needle); once every four hours.
3. Give the dog 10-30ml of 0.2%-0.5% copper sulfate solution to induce vomiting. If the material cannot be obtained immediately, you can try to induce vomiting by giving the dog diluted soapy water.
After first aid measures are completed, the dog should be sent to the hospital immediately for treatment. Gastric lavage, drainage, diuresis and other methods may be needed to detoxify.
