The Bichon Frize's ears are droopy and hidden in long, flowing hair. The ears are positioned slightly higher than the eyes and relatively forward. Black or dark brown eyes, surrounded by black or unusually brown skin, and the eye circles themselves are black. The muzzle is well proportioned to the length of the head. Dark lips are delicate but not droopy. The thighs are muscular and slightly wider apart. The front-wheel drive stretches easily and the rear-wheel drive drives powerfully. The tail is well feathered and is set flush with the topline and curled gently over the back.
The Pomeranian's head is quite short, with a broad and flat skull, shaped like a fox's head. The eyes are medium in size, bronze in color, slightly oval in shape, with moderate distance between the eyes and black eye sockets. The tip of the nose is thin and wedge-shaped, and the nose and coat are the same color. The ears are small, closely spaced, and mostly upright, just like a fox's ears. The chest is thick and the body is compact. The front legs are straight and parallel to each other. The thigh muscles are moderately developed. The wrists are straight and strong, and the feet are arched, compact, and neither turned in nor out. The unique feature of the Pomeranian is the feathered tail, which is thick and long and rises up on the back.
The Bichon Frize is famous for its fluffy appearance formed by a double layer of fur. The hair is slender and curly and silky soft. The rich curly hair is divided into upper coat and undercoat. It must be trimmed frequently. The texture of the coat is the most important. The undercoat is soft and thick, and the outer coat is coarse and curly. In addition to white, the coat colors also include cream and almond.
The Pomeranian’s upper coat is long, straight, and upright, while the undercoat is short, thick, and cotton-like. The head, ears, front sides of the front and rear legs, and feet are covered with short, thick (soft) hair. The rest of the body has long and abundant hair. Not curled, wavy or ropey, not parted on the back. The neck and shoulders are covered with thick bristles. The back of the forelegs is well feathered. The hind legs are richly feathered from the buttocks to the hocks. The tail is like a broom.
