Dogs often have diarrhea after weaning and before they are 5 months old, commonly known as "intestinal upset". In fact, there is no phenomenon of "turning" or "not turning" in the intestines, but enteritis.

There are three main types of dog enteritis: ① infectious enteritis; ② parasitic enteritis; ③ food-induced gastroenteritis.

1. Canine parvovirus.

Infectious enteritis is often caused by canine parvovirus, so it is also called canine parvovirus enteritis. Generally speaking, canine parvovirus will parasitize in the mucosal layer of the gastrointestinal tract of dogs. Once it divides and reproduces, it will destroy their gastrointestinal mucosa, and then cause bleeding and infection of the small intestinal mucosa. Once dogs suffer from this type of enteritis, they will have intractable vomiting and diarrhea. Vomiting can include everything from food to gastric juice, and even bile. Moreover, when the disease is severe, tomato-like blood will spurt out from the anus, and the stench is extremely bad.

2. Internal parasites.

Parasitic enteritis, as its name suggests, is often caused by parasites. If your dog suffers from parasitic enteritis, the most obvious symptom is their feces. The feces of dogs suffering from parasitic enteritis is sometimes very dry and sometimes very thin. Generally speaking, a dog suffering from roundworm gastroenteritis will have a small amount of blood in its stool, while a dog suffering from hookworm gastroenteritis will have blood streaks in its stool. In severe cases, blood may appear in the stool.

3. Digestive problems caused by food changes and other situations.

Food-induced gastroenteritis is often caused by a sudden change in food, or the food is not clean enough. Generally speaking, if it is caused by a sudden change of food, then the dog owner only needs to change the dog's food step by step. If it is caused by unclean food, then the dog owner only needs to do a good job Just reprocess the food, or simply don’t give it to your dog. And if it is a dog suffering from food-induced gastroenteritis, its symptoms of loose stools and diarrhea should be relatively mild, and there will be no blood in the stool. Generally, as long as the food is replaced, there will be obvious improvement.

4. Other gastrointestinal diseases or swallowing of foreign bodies.

Puppies, like people, like to bite things everywhere when they are teething. They often chew up toys and then eat them as food by mistake. This must be confirmed by going to the hospital for a detailed examination.
