Training methods for golden retrievers:
1. First, let the golden retrievers know the password clearly. The golden retrievers are very sensitive. In order to allow the dog to better understand and remember , the training password is best to be short and clearly pronounced, and it is not suitable to say it repeatedly. Also, when giving commands, avoid speaking in a loud or angry tone. At the same time, the owner can decide the tone of command when giving orders to the little golden retriever. For example, for the same "squat" command, a gentle or cheerful tone should be used for a nervous dog, while a loud and decisive tone should be used for a lively dog.
2. Avoid using rough methods. Like any animal, Golden Retrievers are very wary of people, and corporal punishment is the most unacceptable method to force Golden Retrievers to obey. From a dog's perspective, being beaten or kicked for no apparent reason can only create the impression of being "abused." Golden retrievers may obey out of fear. However, dogs that grow up in this environment are extremely insecure and may attack weak children or the elderly, or even bite people. However, when the golden retriever does not obey the command, the owner can give the command loudly and at the same time, shoot the golden retriever in the face with a water gun, and most dogs will calm down.
3. Training should be conducted anytime and anywhere. One misconception most people have is that training is time-limited. In daily life such as walking and eating, we can patiently teach the little golden retriever what to do and what not to do.
4. Don’t praise the little golden retriever too much. Unlike educating children, praise for the little golden retriever should be limited to when the little golden retriever is very obedient. If you praise it at all times, it will confuse it and make it not know when it will get praise, which will make future training more difficult.
5. Be patient. Even if the golden retriever is very smart, it is not an animal that can remember and follow instructions immediately after being taught once or twice. It requires the gradual formation of memory through continuous training. Therefore, the owner is required to be patient and train it continuously.
