Can dogs recover from parvovirus on their own?

The possibility of dogs suffering from parvovirus and recovering from it on their own is very small. The full name of parvovirus is canine parvovirus, which is divided into three types: enteritis type, myocarditis type, and mixed type.

Enteritis type: This type is the most common. At the beginning of the disease, the patient is depressed, loses appetite or becomes paralyzed, and lies down. The body temperature rises above 40°C and there is a sense of thirst, but some dogs do not experience an increase in body temperature. Vomiting, vomiting out food first, and then yellow watery mucus; Diarrhea, first yellow watery stool, then tomato juice-like red bloody stool, with a fishy smell. In the later stages of the disease, severe dehydration, dry nose, sunken eye sockets, pale mucous membranes, rapid weight loss, and a foul odor emanate from the whole body. The duration of the disease varies, with puppies being shorter, mostly 3-5 days, and the fatality rate higher; adult dogs over 12 months old have a duration of 7-14 days, with a lower fatality rate.

Myocarditis type: This type is less common and is more common in puppies aged 2-3 months. It shows depression, fast and weak heartbeat, and often sick dogs. Death due to sudden heart failure, short course.

Mixed type: This type has the typical symptoms of the above two types. Most enteritis type appears first, followed by myocarditis symptoms, and the mortality rate is high.
If you find similar symptoms, you must seek medical treatment in time. Follow the doctor's instructions, actively cooperate with the treatment, and follow the doctor's instructions. It is still possible to be cured.
