How old is a Labrador before it becomes less excited?

Labradors usually stop being excited at the age of 1-2. When the dog becomes an adult, the personality gradually becomes calmer, and it will no longer be as excited as when it was a child. . The reason why Labrador is excited is partly because of his personality and partly because of his owner’s education. If your Labrador is too excited, you can add some training to control it.

Train the dog to “not move”

1. First let the dog sit down next to your left foot.
2. Walk around him a few times. Still holding the leash loosely with your left hand, order him "Don't move". You can also extend the palm of your right hand to signal him not to move. Then walk away from him. Move a step away and command him "don't move" again.
3. Repeat the command while walking around him, don't stay too far away from him, let him know that you are by his side.
4. When you stop, you should stand to his right. Praise him gently for his good performance, reward him with some food if necessary, and then start practicing again, this time still walking around him, in front of him. You can stay a little further away from him, but when you walk behind him, get closer to him.
5. When the dog gradually understands that you have no intention of abandoning him, he will stay in place obediently. If he doesn't move, you can increase the difficulty of the training and make the leash longer so that when you walk in front of or around him, the distance will be farther than before.
