Symptoms that occur when a dog is hit by a car or falls down

The lightening of the mucous membrane and wheezing can be considered as internal circulation weakness.
Shock symptoms.
The dog is in pain or feels pain when the body is lifted.
The conjunctiva gradually becomes lighter (perhaps intraocular bleeding).

First aid measures for dog accidents

1. Protect yourself and wear a muzzle on the dog.
2. Take your dog to the veterinarian quickly.
3. Talk softly (comfortingly) to your dog.
4. If your dog cannot stand up, please prevent it from being transported on a fixed transport piece at all costs.
5. When transporting the dog to the veterinarian, if the dog has severe bleeding, apply a pressure bandage.

Pressure bandaging

When the blood flow does not stop, pressure bandage should be used.
Attention! Compression dressings should not be used when breaking a bone.
1. Preparation
Do not wash, suction or wipe the wound. If there is still a foreign body in the wound, do not remove it, as removing the foreign body will aggravate bleeding. Never use pressure dressing when there is foreign matter in the wound.
2. Pressure cloth
Put on the sterile pressure cloth and put a gauze roll on it as a cushion.

3. Pressure bandaging
Tightly wrap it with an elastic bandage. When wrapping, be sure to put pressure points on the injured area.
4. Other measures
The pressure bandage must be loosened no more than 20 minutes at most, otherwise the soft tissue will become necrotic.
Go to the vet immediately.
If the journey takes a long time, the bandage should be loosened from time to time and re-wrapped when bleeding occurs.
