Symptoms of dog dermatitis

Causes of dog dermatitis

There are many causes of canine dermatitis. It can be roughly divided into: mechanical, chemical, fungal, parasitic, allergic and other factors.
1. Mechanical: Traumatic dermatitis, burns, frostbite, radiation damage, etc. caused by abrasions, autologous contusions, and scratches.
2. Chemical properties: long-term irritation from chemical bath agents, application of irritating drugs, and purulent secretions.
3. Fungi: Microsporum, Microsporum gypseum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes.
4. Parasites: such as Demodex, scabies, cicadas, lice, fleas, schistosomiasis, hookworms, etc.
5. Food allergies and drug allergies can lead to dermatitis.

Prevention and treatment measures for dog dermatitis

1. Desensitization and anti-itching: oral or intramuscular injection of corticosteroids, prednisone 1 mg/kg body weight, dexamethasone 0.15-0.25 mg/kg body weight .
2. Apply sulfonamide ointment locally.
3. Chronic dermatitis can be applied with triamcinolone acetate ointment or hydrogen acetate ointment.
4. Fungal dermatitis can be applied with clotrimazole ointment, ringworm ointment or daxonine ointment.
5. Parasitic dermatitis of the skin, refer to the treatment of Demodex.
6. For dermatitis with bacterial infection, systemic antibiotic therapy can be applied, and penicillin or gentamicin can be injected intramuscularly, twice a day.
