3. Trauma to the testicles and epididymis can sometimes cause inflammation and infection.

5. Canine distemper virus can cause inflammation of both testicles and epididymis.

Treatment of orchitis in dogs

1. Treat the sick dog with large doses of antibiotics throughout the body. In the case of local infection, local drainage must be performed while systemic treatment is performed.
2. Surgical removal of testicles and epididymis. Dogs that are Brucella positive and those with severe testicular damage, abscess or necrosis should have their testicles removed.
