Physical examination before vaccination

Therefore, before vaccination, you must ask a veterinarian to check your dog's body and check whether the body temperature is normal. The physical examination mainly checks for eye secretions, nasal mucus, and oral cavity. Check whether the color of the mucous membrane is abnormal, whether the conjunctiva has proliferated blood vessels, whether there is vomiting, not eating, diarrhea, etc., whether there is a history of infectious diseases, and whether there has been contact with sick dogs.

After vaccination, fever, mental deterioration, loss of appetite, lethargy, etc. may occur as the immune system begins to react. This is a normal reaction. Usually within 1-3 days, you will recover on your own. You don't have to worry too much. You can give it some liquid or semi-liquid food that is easy to digest and keep enough water.

But if it is itchy all over the body and has swelling on its face, it is allergic, and you need to go to the hospital for desensitization injections. Some puppies may have severe reactions such as shock after vaccination, so it is best to stay at the veterinary station or pet hospital for 30 minutes after vaccination to confirm that the puppy has no abnormal reaction before leaving. Within a week after the vaccine injection, the dog's body is producing antibodies and its resistance may decrease. Be sure not to bathe the dog to prevent catching a cold during this period.

Clinical symptoms of vaccine allergy

1. Severe allergic type: onset usually occurs within 2 minutes. The main clinical symptoms are elevated body temperature, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, mental stress and then mental fatigue. Listlessness, dull eyesight, disheveled coat, cold nose, soft neck, unsteady limbs and crawling posture, the condition is critical.

2. General allergic type: Most of them occur about 10 minutes after injection. The main clinical manifestations are depression, dull eyes, slow reaction, weakness of limbs, inability to move, and deep and slow breathing. General allergic type: Generally, no medication is required, and the condition will return to normal after 1 hour.

How to treat vaccine allergy

For severe allergic types: carry out desensitization therapy as soon as possible, subcutaneously inject 1 ml of chlorpheniramine injection into the dog, and intravenously infuse 10% calcium gluconate (per kilogram 10 ml of body weight), relief can be obtained after 20 minutes, otherwise, the injection of chlorpheniramine can be repeated until the symptoms are relieved. Dog Assistant reminds you: It is best to take your Teddy dog to a regular pet hospital for vaccination. After the vaccination, it is best to observe it in the hospital for about half an hour. If the Teddy dog develops allergic symptoms, it can receive timely treatment.
