Tips for training Labradors

1. Mechanical stimulation method

Mechanical stimulation is a method of controlling Labrador behavior when it is disobedient. The most commonly used is a leash (dog leash). When Labrador is accompanying and training, if the Labrador does not act according to the owner's wishes, he can pull the leash to force the Labrador not to go against the owner's wishes.

2. Food stimulation method

Food stimulation method is to give food rewards when Labrador is successfully trained or attracts its attention to mobilize training enthusiasm. If you only train and ignore rewards, Labrador will feel that training is a very meaningless thing and all training methods are in vain. Food can stimulate Labrador's conditioned reflex and let it know that there are benefits to being obedient.

3. Training method combining mechanical stimulation and rewards

This method uses mechanical methods to force Labrador to act according to instructions when it refuses to accept training, and at the same time, rewards are given when the action is successful or there is improvement. If the intensity of mechanical stimulation is too strong and too frequent, Labrador will have the opposite reflex, causing fear and avoidance from the beginning of every training, and unable to remember the essentials of movements. Although rewards are necessary, they must be appropriate. If there are too many rewards, it will affect normal appetite and will not be conducive to future training. You can combine petting and verbal praise to achieve the purpose of reward.

4. Imitation training method

The simulation training method is to allow the trained Labrador to observe how the trained Labrador receives training and rewards, which is influenced and inspired. This method can make Labrador dogs understand what to do vividly and effectively, and the training effect is sometimes lower than mechanical stimulation.
