Preparation for Labrador bathing

1. Prepare tools for bathing: pet shampoo, comb, absorbent towel, hair dryer.
2. Check the dog’s body carefully before bathing it to see if there are any wounds or parasites. Dogs who are sick, have wounds, are pregnant, lactating, newborn puppies, or dogs that have just been vaccinated cannot take a bath.
3. If there are no hair knots or only very small hair knots on the Labrador, there is no need to comb before cleaning. When combing dry and dirty hair, the friction between dust and dirt and the hair may cause hair breakage. If your Labrador's hair becomes tangled, it is best to comb the dog's hair with a comb first.

Steps for bathing a Labrador

1. First clean the anal glands of the Labrador. Place your thumb and index finger at 8 o'clock and 4 o'clock on both sides of the anus, working from the outside to the inside. Squeeze and rinse with water.
2. Start rinsing from the back first, let the dog get used to it and eliminate the fear, then slowly rinse forward, kneading the hair while rinsing to make the hair wet quickly.
3. Apply the diluted shampoo evenly to the dog’s body. Rub while applying, and carefully rub the dog's feet, armpits, and belly.
4. After rubbing, rinse with clean water without leaving any shampoo residue. Use an absorbent towel to wipe off excess water from your dog's body, and then use a hair dryer and a comb to dry your dog.

Precautions for bathing Labradors

1. The water temperature for dog bathing depends on the weather, usually around 35-38 degrees.
2. When bathing, be careful not to get water into the dog’s ears, eyes, and nose.
The dog must be rinsed with shampoo when bathing, and must be dried after bathing, otherwise the dog will be prone to skin diseases.
