How do Corgis erect their ears? If Corgis don’t have erect ears, you can help Corgis erect their ears by tying their ears. While tying Corgi’s ears, you should also pay attention to adjusting the Corgi’s diet, especially pay attention to its effect on calcium. According to the quality needs, you can’t just feed Corgi a single dog food, or feed Corgi some food with higher calcium content. In addition, you should get more sunshine to promote calcium absorption.

Materials required:

Johnson's tape, athlete's tape, or a similar breathable tape. Domestic paper-based wide medical tape is also available.

The tape is about 2 cm wide

Two balls of hemostatic Danbis cotton strips (sized to fit your dog’s ears)

Scissors

An assistant

Preparation work:

Use canine clean water or peroxide to clean your puppy's ears thoroughly. When the ears are dry, you can prepare cotton balls, and tape. Tear the cotton ball and twist it into a strip. Wrap the cotton strip with tape.

Next step: You need to apply tape to the cotton sliver. In other words, you need to wrap the tape around the cotton sliver with the adhesive side facing out. Start at the top of the tampon and wrap it with tape in one go, then, turn it upside down and wrap it around, spiraling down the tampon like a hairdresser would do.

Next, cut a few pieces of tape about 6 inches long and place them within easy reach.

Now you can prepare the puppy and have the assistant control it firmly so that it does not twist too much.

Positioning:

Take a tampon and insert it into your ear at an appropriate depth without using excessive force. Then, unfold the ear and wrap it around the positioning tampon. Find the natural fold in your puppy's ears, which is important for ear support. Never unfold the pleats when tying them in school. Your puppy's ears need this fold to provide support to stand upright.

Begin to dip your ears into the positioning sliver. Start as low as possible (this is important to prevent the tampon from falling out), wrapping it toward your head and then around your back. Be careful not to wrap it too tightly. Adequate gluing is important, but it doesn't need to be super tight.

Next you need to tie the top of the ear, being careful not to finish the tip. Again: don’t tie it too tight, you will cut off the blood circulation and the tip of the ear will become necrotic.

For the last step you will need to support your ears. Wrap a long piece of tape around the base of the ear, then across the top of the head, wrapping the other ear in a similar manner. The ears should stand vertically. There should be no leaning towards either side.

It can be disassembled every 1 to 3 days for 1 to 8 hours, so that it can be erected in about a month.

While tying Corgi’s ears, pet owners should pay attention to adjusting Corgi’s diet, paying special attention to its calcium needs. Pet owners do not want to feed Corgi only a single dog food every meal, (Because the calcium content in dog food is very little or even non-existent) or give Corgi some foods with higher calcium content, such as bone soup, dried shrimps, tofu, etc. You can also prepare some fresh fruits and vegetables for the dog, such as Carrots, pumpkins, apples, etc. to keep corgis getting rich nutrients. In addition, you should spend more time in the sun to promote calcium absorption.
