How to raise a Shar-Pei? The Shar-Pei’s diet should include no less than about 500 grams of meat per day, and an equal amount of cooked dry ingredients. Feed the dog at regular intervals, clean the tableware in time, and ensure sufficient and fresh drinking water. Bathe it regularly, clean skin folds, earwax and tartar, trim toenails, and wash its eyes with dilute boric acid water. Take it out for a walk every day, but don't overdo it.

 1. Diet

Shar-Pei dogs should have more meat in their feed preparation, which should not be less than about 500 grams per day, and the same amount of cooked dry vegetarian ingredients should be added. The meat should be cooked and chopped first, add a small amount of water, and mix with dry vegetarian ingredients before feeding. Feed must be fresh and clean, and tableware must be washed and disinfected regularly. Feed the dog at a fixed time every day, and limit it to 15 to 25 minutes to eat. Put away the food utensils when it is over, so that it can develop good eating habits. Drink fresh drinking water every morning and afternoon.

 2. Cleaning

Shar-Pei dogs have many wrinkles on their skin, which can easily harbor dirt and cause bacterial growth. Therefore, special attention should be paid to daily cleaning and hygiene, otherwise the dog is prone to scabies and skin diseases. It is advisable to bathe twice a week in summer and once a week in autumn. Use a towel to dry your skin immediately after bathing. Every 1 to 3 weeks, trim its toenails. In addition, earwax and tartar should be removed every week or so, and eyes should be washed with dilute boric acid water to prevent keratitis.

 3. Exercise

The Shar-Pei was originally a hunting and fighting dog. It loves to be active, so it should be given sufficient time for walking, running and other activities every day. It is best to take it outdoors for a walk in the early morning or dusk. But be careful not to overdo your activities, because this kind of dog has a short nasal passage and is prone to hypoxia during strenuous exercise.
