How do you tell whether a Corgi is pure or not? Generally, the appearance and body structure of a Corgi can be distinguished at two and a half months to three months. A pure Corgi, or a better Corgi, will be very different at home when he is a child. Some bark less, and some barely bark at all. They have large, erect ears, but some erect their ears later. If it is a 2-color Corgi, the iconic sign is a white scarf.

6. Body shape: Overall balance is more important than absolute size. When dogs stand naturally, the height at the withers for both males and females is approximately 10.5 to 12.5 inches.

The ideal ratio of height (the vertical distance from the withers to the ground) and body length (the horizontal distance from the sternum to the back of the buttocks [the position of the ischial protrusion]) is about 1/1.8.
