The order of trimming Pomeranian dogs is: ears, forelimbs, hindlimbs, tail, and the whole body.
Pomeranian’s home makeup should be mainly straight scissors, supplemented by dental scissors, while competition level makeup should be based on dental scissors, supplemented by straight scissors. Moreover, competition-level makeup requires the beard to be cut off, while family makeup can keep or cut off the beard according to the owner's requirements.
①Ear part
Use your thumb and forefinger to hold the edge of the ear meat at the upper end of the ear to expose the part to be trimmed, make the first flat cut, and then remove the edges and corners on both sides in a smooth manner. Finally, parallel lines without edges and corners are formed. Be careful not to cut the ears.
②Forelimbs and hind limbs
Trim the limbs first and then extend to the limbs. The feet should be trimmed into a cat-like shape.
Trim the toes: pinch the toes with your hands to expose the toenails, and trim the hair around the toenails with a small straight cutter on the left and right sides. Use dental scissors to smooth the curved area on the instep above the toes. Note that the front of the forelimbs should be trimmed into a cat-foot shape, and be trimmed appropriately according to the thickness of the bones.
Foot: It needs to be trimmed in an arc shape with dental scissors. Just trim it and connect it smoothly with the toes.
Legs: From the back of the front legs to the top of the feet and then to the toes, use a comb to raise the hair and trim it into a cylindrical shape in an arc.
The hind legs are connected to the feet and toes from below the hock of the hind legs, and are still trimmed into a cylindrical shape in an arc shape. The top of the hock is trimmed into a rounded arc shape.
Limbs: All are trimmed according to the principle of roundness and straightness. The thickness of the leg hair is adjusted according to the size of the body, whether it is long or short.
