1. Virgin female dogs are generally not suitable for breeding. Therefore, they are only sexually mature at this time and their bodies have not reached full maturity. Otherwise, their own growth and development will be hindered, and their fecundity will also be reduced.

2. Age at first marriage. Generally, the age of female dogs is 1.5 years old (it is appropriate to mate during the second heat), and the age of male dogs is 2.0 years old.

3. Number of matings. A female dog should be bred 1-2 times during one estrus, and the interval between two times is preferably 48 hours. Male dogs are bred 40-60 times a year, preferably no more than 2 times a week.

4. Time and place of mating. It should be done in the morning and evening in the southern summer, and in the morning or afternoon in the northern winter. The location should be a quiet environment, preferably a place that both male and female dogs are familiar with. This is especially important for timid female dogs to avoid crowds from affecting mating.

5. Sexual experience. Female dogs that are mated for the first time, due to lack of sexual experience, especially those that have been raised alone and have not been exposed to male dogs since childhood, will not be allowed to mate even if they are in estrus. At this time, only the owner can assist (grasp the collar with one hand and support it with the other). abdomen). First-time male dogs, due to their lack of sexual experience, often panic and hesitate once they come into contact with female dogs, or crawl across without an erection, or have incomplete sexual behavior. It takes several times before they can engage in normal sexual behavior. This should be treated gently, otherwise it will easily cause sexual inhibition. It is best to breed with a sexually experienced female dog first.

6. Sexual suppression of male dogs. Insufficient nutrition and exercise, lack of sexual experience, and male dogs mating to several female dogs, etc., can all lead to sexual suppression in male dogs. Beyond that, sexual inhibition is usually due to faulty or rough management. Some incorrect operations during semen collection can also cause sexual inhibition. Because sexual inhibition is often caused by fear, pain and interference during mating or semen collection, it can also turn into impotence.

7. Sexual stimulation before mating. Sexual stimulation through sensation shortly before mating is beneficial for mating. The male and female dogs should be allowed to play and chase together for a period of time, and the sexual behavior of the male dog should be properly restrained. Several empty climbs will not cause sexual inhibition. After 5-10 minutes and 4-6 such ups and downs of futile climbs, the male dog's ejaculation volume and semen concentration can be increased in the end, and the sperm motility is also good. Pre-participation sexual stimulation can not only increase the volume of ejaculation, improve sperm density and motility, but also cause the release of luteinizing hormone, which subsequently increases the concentration of ketones in the blood.

8. Three matches and three mismatches and one early and one late: matches between young dogs with the same advantages, and the male dog is ranked higher than the female dog; matches with the same or opposite shortcomings, between old dogs, and the male dog is ranked lower than the female dog. Female dogs are not worthy of mating; older female dogs should be bred early (with blood dripping on 8-10 days), and young bitches should be bred late (with blood dripping on 12-14 days)
