Cats hate bathing because of their nature
Most cats are afraid of water. They usually stay away from water and do not like to get wet in the rain. Cats' fear of water is genetically determined. After all, their ancestors were afraid of water. Domestic cats first originated in Egypt, and domestic cats prefer warm places. When taking a bath, the temperature of a cat's body drops relatively quickly. When they feel that their body is getting cold, they are no longer willing to touch the water.
Cats hate bathing because of the smell
When giving a cat a bath, the strong fragrance of the shower gel will inevitably cover up the cat’s body odor. Once the smell is washed away, the cat will become anxious. In addition, the water temperature and the sound of the shower water will make the cat uncomfortable.
Are all cats afraid of water?
Not all cats are afraid of water and bathing. Turkish Van cats and fishing cats are exceptions. Turkish Van cats are naturally fond of water, and they usually regard swimming as fun. Most fishing cats live by rivers in the wild, where it is easier to obtain food, so catching fish in the water is a common occurrence for fishing cats.
