To see if a cat is pregnant, you can first check whether the cat still has signs of estrus. If the cat has stopped being in estrus and is unwilling to let male cats get close, it is most likely pregnant. Secondly, you can observe the changes in the cat's body. After the cat is pregnant, the nipple color will gradually turn pink and the breasts will begin to enlarge. Finally, if it is basically confirmed that the cat is pregnant, you can take the cat to the pet hospital for a B-ultrasound examination to check the number of pregnant kittens and whether the fetus is developing normally.

 1. Investigate whether the cat still has signs of estrus

Generally, cats will not show signs of estrus such as howling or approaching male cats after pregnancy, so owners can first check whether the cat still shows signs of estrus. If the cat has stopped being in estrus for a week, the cat may be pregnant. In addition, because a cat may not show signs of estrus if it is falsely pregnant, the owner also needs to check whether the cat is willing to let a male cat get close. If it is not willing to let a male cat get close, then the possibility of pregnancy is very high.

2. Investigate physical changes in cats

In terms of physical manifestations, generally speaking, about 20 days after pregnancy, a cat’s breasts will have swollen nipples, and the color of the nipples will gradually change to pink, and the surrounding hair will gradually fade away. Due to the enlargement of the uterus, swelling can also be felt when touching the cat's abdomen. Around days 40 to 60, the cat's breasts can be visibly enlarged. Near the time of delivery, you can also see milk flowing out of the cat's nipples, abnormal mood, and constant licking of the vulva.

 3. Conduct B-ultrasound examination

If you find that your cat has the above abnormal symptoms, you can take it to the pet hospital for a B-ultrasound examination. This method can not only accurately determine whether the cat is pregnant, but also confirm the number of fetuses, fetal development status, and the expected date of delivery of the female cat.
