6. The cat’s eyes will not close after receiving anesthesia, so before it wakes up, a few drops of chloramphenicol eye drops should be added every 10 minutes to prevent the corneas from drying out.

7. When taking the cat home after the operation, lay it down flat and do not nestle it into the neck to avoid suffocation.

8. Male cats usually do not need stitches or bandages after sterilization surgery, so they must wear an Elizabethan collar after surgery! The wound should not be exposed to water or allowed to be licked by the cat.

9. Pay attention to whether there is bleeding or oozing from the surgical site within 24 hours after the operation, and pay attention to anti-inflammation to prevent infection.

10. 2 to 3 days after the operation, if the cat has symptoms such as secretions from the wound or elevated body temperature, he should go to the hospital in time.

11. When a cat is in estrus, sterilization surgery should be avoided. Because the concentration of sex hormones in the blood is high at this time, surgery will cause excessive bleeding. You should wait for a while until the cat is temporarily out of heat before performing surgery.
