When we buy a chinchilla, we all want to buy a cat with good enough quality, but what kind of chinchilla is good and what are the standards for buying a chinchilla? We often have various problems that we hope to solve! Indeed, buying a good chinchilla can save us a lot of trouble. Cats that are healthy from the beginning are easier to maintain. We don’t have to go to the hospital all the time and worry about the cat’s various illnesses!
Chinchilla is the Persian with the most gorgeous colors, including two basic colors of gold and silver. It is a cat with pointed hair characteristics. When a white Persian and a silver chinchilla stand together, you will notice that the top of the chinchilla's white coat is tipped with black, which gives the chinchilla a shiny silver appearance.
The most iconic thing is Chinchilla’s eyes, which look like black eyeliner and are very charming. They should be the largest eyes among all cat species.
The eyes should be green or blue-green, and the eye shape must be full, that is, the eye shape must be round. Such a cat will have a very sweet appearance and good quality. It is worth noting the eye shape of almond-shaped eyes. This kind of eye shape greatly reduces the quality of the cat. The nose line and lip line are also black. The nose is brick red, and the length of the nose is an important criterion for judging the quality of the Chinchilla. In the CFA standards, the nose of the Chinchilla is described as a "short" nose, not Persian, which is "no nose" like Exotic short.
It is worth noting that the face of a good-quality chinchilla should be flat when viewed from the side. If the nose is already protruding like a domestic cat, with an obvious high nose bridge, then this will not matter. "Quality", at best it can be treated as a pet.
All the paw pads of the Chinchilla must be black. For those with uneven color on the body, such as some non-acquired factors (acquired factors such as: the appearance of color on the chest and sides of the paws where the cat often licks is acceptable) Cats with miscellaneous hair; yellow eye color; and uneven brick-red noses should also pay special attention to the color of their paw pads.
It should be noted that Chinchilla belongs to a large family of Persia, so unless there are special provisions, the basic characteristics should be similar to Persia. Specifically, the Chinchilla's head should be as flat as a Persian when viewed from the side, and should not protrude like an ordinary domestic cat, with a long nose (this is an important measure of quality).
There are also cats whose eyes should be big and round, not almond-shaped, and whose ears should be low and as tall as rabbits. I believe you won’t find them good-looking. The edges of the ears should be arc-shaped. If the edges of the ears are If it grows into a pointed shape, it will have a great impact on the sweet appearance of the chinchilla, so be sure to be very careful.
