It is normal for Garfield cats to shed tears, and Garfield cats are the cat breeds most likely to shed tears. Due to breed reasons, Garfield cats have a unique facial structure. Garfield's nose is flat, so the nasolacrimal ducts are relatively short, and tears cannot evaporate through the nasolacrimal ducts, so its eyes are always full of tears and look watery. Tears that cannot be drained normally can easily flow out of the corners of the eyes and can easily form tear stains. There are some diseases that can cause inflammation of Garfield cats’ eyes, such as rhinorrhea and feline plague, which can cause inflammation of Garfield cats’ eyes. As long as Garfield cats have symptoms such as sneezing or fever, they should be sent to the pet hospital for examination immediately.
Causes of cats crying:
1. Cats shed tears due to physical discomfort, such as colds, blepharitis, conjunctivitis, etc. The eyes are the most vulnerable part of cats and are easily infected with bacteria and viruses, leading to some diseases.
2. Get angry. Cat food with too high oil and salt content and too many additives can easily cause cats to get angry. A cat that gets angry will cry.
3. Some cats are born with trichiasis. This condition is not serious before the cat has fully grown up. However, when the cat grows up, the eyelashes grow inward and irritate their eyes. This can cause the tearing to become more severe.
4. Under normal circumstances, cats will shed tears when stimulated by foreign objects. Dust, food and smells may make cats feel uncomfortable and cause tears.
